Dr. Pan’s Lab – Calcium Signaling in Cancer and Other Diseases

Pan Lab banner image

Welcome to the Pan Lab!

Our research interest is focused on intracellular calcium signaling and its pathophysiological implications in human diseases. Ion Ca2+, the mighty signaler, regulates a wide range of downstream cellular processes, including gene transcription, cell proliferation, migration and death. Dysregulation in Ca2+ signaling has been linked to muscle, heart diseases, cancer and more.  We study the fine-tuned Ca2+ signaling network in various diseases with a multidisciplinary approach, including live cell imaging, ultrastructural analysis, molecular gene modulation, intracellular Ca2+ measurement and transgenic animal models.
